Materials and care

We use certified recycled bronze, which consists of more than 90% pure metal. This material is an ecological alternative to traditional alloys. It is made from reused resources, which reduces the impact on the environment.

Our bronze jewelry is raw, not gilded or surface-treated in any way, i.e. its gold color is the primary color of the metal.

The alloy is precisely mixed into the gold color of the metal, which resembles real gold and allows for detailed hand-modeled work - each piece is original.

What are the properties of individual materials and plating?

  • Bronze - Bronze is a very durable and hard metal. Our jewelry is made of raw golden bronze, which has a delicate rose gold color. Since this is the primary color of the metal, you don't have to worry about it "peeling off" over time, as is the case with gold-plated jewelry A natural property of bronze is oxidation, similar to sterling silver. Due to the large proportion of copper, bronze oxidizes in the form of a dark golden patina, which gives the jewelry a unique vintage look. This phenomenon is a completely natural and specific reaction of the metal. If you want to preserve the jewelry in its original color and shine, just polish it with a cotton cloth, which you receive for free with every order. You can soak the jewelry in spring water and then polish it with a cloth and the bronze will have its original color again.
For some skin types, bronze can oxidize in the form of fine greenish spots on the skin. This can happen with rings, but is unlikely with pendants. This is a natural reaction of copper to the pH of the skin and sweat and is not harmful to health. This can be prevented by applying Jewelry Shield varnish, which is designed for copper, brass and bronze jewelry, to the areas where it comes into contact with the skin. This layer of varnish lasts for about 3 months. You can also use clear nail polish, which works on the same principle.

How to clean bronze jewelry?

Clean bronze jewelry regularly with the included cotton cloth or a silver jewelry cloth.

Bronze jewelry can be cleaned at home in the same way as silver jewelry. Place aluminum foil in a bowl, sprinkle baking soda, and pour hot water over it. This will release the jewelry's natural patina. Then, simply rinse, dry, or polish it.

With regular care, bronze jewelry will retain its golden color.

    • PVD Gold Plating (Physical Vapour Deposition) is a modern surface treatment technology in which a gold layer is applied to metal through vacuum evaporation. Unlike traditional electroplating, this process does not create a thin coating but rather a highly durable layer that is more resistant to scratching, wear, and color fading. Thanks to this method, the jewelry retains its shine and color for much longer and is also more environmentally friendly, as no chemical waste is produced during manufacturing.

Please note that all types of gold plating are surface treatments only and are not permanent.
